Curtains Close
I've oft heard it said that funerals are for the living
So when I clock out of this prolonged work day that is life
When I leave this miserable existence
Give a long and moving speech about my life
Tell my mother I was happy
Tell my sisters I had no regrets
And that there's nothing I'd have liked to change
Tell them I left 'cause it was my time
Tell them I departed with that mischievous smirk on my face and a glint in my eye
Lie to them for me
For alas, I won't be around to do it myself
So when I clock out of this prolonged work day that is life
When I leave this miserable existence
Give a long and moving speech about my life
Tell my mother I was happy
Tell my sisters I had no regrets
And that there's nothing I'd have liked to change
Tell them I left 'cause it was my time
Tell them I departed with that mischievous smirk on my face and a glint in my eye
Lie to them for me
For alas, I won't be around to do it myself
