up not down
Jack Daws on the bread
as the simple snow
tries as it will to float
through the ground
watering the earth in its way
adding to our rivers and oceans
reminding to look up when you can
not down to the pavements
as someone walks towards,
always walk with our heads up
I hear them say.....
walk tall like the ships of old
high upon the raging seas
heading for the stars
through the sprays
directly towards their goal
with their sails held high,
like the sparrow feeding to feed
its young with heads held high
gape open their wee mouths
as they fight to win the chance in hope
of being fed a worm
of being nourished by their parents
innate efforts to survive
