'Til I'm Dead
Watch me as I fall in that deep, dark gutter.
If my life were a window,
then it's veiled by a shutter.
I just want some peace where there's no one around.
All this chaos in my life,
it's like a battleground.
Now as I fall apart,
don't you pick up all the pieces.
Believe it or not,
the cold ground's where the peace is.
If I got a dollar every time someone said
that everything will be okay,
I'd drown in money 'til I'm dead.
Face to face with the demon inside me,
and there's nothing that your god can do;
there's no one there to answer me.
Only a black dog who never leaves my side.
I see its ember eyes
as I drift along the roadside.
There's no going back;
there's nowhere to hide.
I live that nomad life.
I don't have no disguise.
If I got a dollar every time someone said
that home is where the heart is,
I'd drown in money 'til I'm dead.
If my life were a window,
then it's veiled by a shutter.
I just want some peace where there's no one around.
All this chaos in my life,
it's like a battleground.
Now as I fall apart,
don't you pick up all the pieces.
Believe it or not,
the cold ground's where the peace is.
If I got a dollar every time someone said
that everything will be okay,
I'd drown in money 'til I'm dead.
Face to face with the demon inside me,
and there's nothing that your god can do;
there's no one there to answer me.
Only a black dog who never leaves my side.
I see its ember eyes
as I drift along the roadside.
There's no going back;
there's nowhere to hide.
I live that nomad life.
I don't have no disguise.
If I got a dollar every time someone said
that home is where the heart is,
I'd drown in money 'til I'm dead.
