Daddy
His light hazel eyes and strong face assured me of security and safety
It also expressed his anger and strength when he spoke
The crows feet under his eyes, even though he was very young
Showed me the amount accretion of wisdom he attained
My hand pressing against his cheek,
Feeling all the prickly hairs of his cheek
When he smiled I smiled because I felt his joy
His smooth skin and curly hair that shined so naturally
I remember always wanting to look like him
To be like him when I grew up
Full of wisdom and strong in nature
But then one day he disappeared
He walked away from me, from everything
His name was Daddy
It also expressed his anger and strength when he spoke
The crows feet under his eyes, even though he was very young
Showed me the amount accretion of wisdom he attained
My hand pressing against his cheek,
Feeling all the prickly hairs of his cheek
When he smiled I smiled because I felt his joy
His smooth skin and curly hair that shined so naturally
I remember always wanting to look like him
To be like him when I grew up
Full of wisdom and strong in nature
But then one day he disappeared
He walked away from me, from everything
His name was Daddy
