Sonnet - Catharsis
Face to face, lips barely an inch apart,
Eyes closing with a calm, contented sigh,
The only sound the beating of my heart,
There's no one else on earth: just you and I.
The hands caress each other's gentle curves,
And foreheads touch -- the lips are closer in,
There's no chance of us calming down our nerves,
And gentlest kiss I place upon your chin.
At last, our eager lips, tentatively,
Graze each other, the teasing such a bliss,
Closer, hungrier, so desperately,
Finally caught in perfect, endless kiss.
A kiss so perfect that it must be treasured;
The kiss by which all future ones are measured.
