A Held Over Engagement (The Story of Co-Dependency)

Sliding in and out of realities, needing to be needed constantly
Forced and Current in Modality, performed in Songs of Pain Sustained
Sung in torrential downpours of Reigning Reality in what is Sought
Emotional stains blot roads overly travelled, better yet still stalked
As we both waited for freedoms call, not listening to what needs 2b

Chained to a relationship of prolonging, captivated in security of mundane
Longing for recognition of not belonging, sharing the same of difference wanting
Scared to be labeled as giving up, as giving in to inadequacy characteristic
Perpetually codependent on an endless ending giving light to new beginnings
Guilty driven and riddled in false sins of fault findings and blame riding
Upholding a union, fearful of God’s Decree of remanding, soul searching solidarity
But most of all God’s Sees we are not happily ever after and will never be

Yet and still we remain a pair, swearing in prayer, to never be the One of Two
Not to abandon a united front of servitude, we cannot fathom gratitude
Waiting for the day of demise of one of our lives, leaving no need at all
Believing wrongly to this being key to set us free, yet trapped and still
Meanwhile not nurturing but killing spirit presently, tormented in needs of victory
Blaming one another aimlessly…….Love is misplaced in constant complacency
Taking for granted the gift of choice and demanding truth of birthrights…….
An end to this too long held over engagement , but still attending

Ensuring generations of woefully repetitive training, maintaining false needing
As our sons and daughters of subsequent tribes are con -templating
Thriving in the prison of unbroken and unrealized lives performance
Not wanting or willing to break a chain of unrelated events
If only we would have stop to temporarily hurt untrue feelings
Calling out and addressing our overplayed codependent engagement
