Life is a road traveled alone
Once upon a road a woman was walking
She had 2 companions whom were always talking
They were great company
She enjoyed their friendship
Many laughs on her long journey
Her female friend kept a smile on her face
The male companion kept his arm around her waist
She felt safe and secure
Happier than she'd been in quite some time of that she could be sure
Just so happened one peaceful afternoon
Her female friend decided she preferred the moon
And from that point, it would light the path for her feet to tread upon
The very next day the woman cried when she realized her friend had gone.
For the friendship she had held close to her heart , now they were split apart.
The man was still with her and she clung tightly to his chest.
Even allowed him the pleasure to lay his head upon her breast. He spoke to her sweetly and talked for hours. The only time he'd left her side was to pick a bouquet of wild flowers.
One evening as they laid in the green grass he told her that this journey was moving quite too fast. He would catch up to her later. Although he'd enjoyed her company, to her he would not cater. He would not give any more of his time and if he saw her in the next town he would make sure he said hi.
The woman began to think of all she'd given up to travel and see things she'd never known. She realized all those she'd meant anything to she had left back home. Deep down-she knew the journey had to be completed, but once the road was walked-it would never be repeated.
