Rainy Days in Springtime
The cool wind carries another storm across my dreary skies
I miss your smile and the sweetness of springtime in the air
Your return will bring welcome sunlight to my tired fading eyes
To burn away the Winter's cold and reawaken this hibernating bear
The scent of honey that bumble bees carry on their wings
Stirs my soul to rise once more and risk their angry stings
For my hunger outweighs the pain that slumber held at bay
Now that March is finally here, it's time for Pooh to play
No sooner did I poke my head out of this damp old cave
I was struck by the howling horn of Aries thunder wave
Rolling over head like a stampede of hooves at lightning speed
Reminding my rumbling tummy the time has come for Pooh to feed

I saw a story on the news last night that Winnie the Pooh was based on a real bear. I woke up a short time ago dreaming about Pooh Bear, so I wrote a poem...

Wonderful read, sir, I wish I can experience springtime. *sigh* It's a scorching hot summer here, and I dream of blooms...but I think I'd love to see autumn more. :)

Springtime is wonderful because the Winter is so cold. Where are you hat it is so hot?

I am in the Philippines which is a tropical country. I used to live in one of the famous cold places here but moved to a much hotter place. I miss the trees and I can't even remember the last time I saw rain. And I used to be surrounded by fog!
Thank you too for making me search for my Pooh stuffed toy. My father gave it to me when he came home after years of working overseas. He slightly doesn't know me then, he thought I prefer Pooh over Power Puff Girls' Bubbles(my favorite when I was a kid). But I loved my Pooh, it is the most cuddly thing and nice to hug at night... :)

Awww... now see what you've gone and done? How can I possibly see you as positively dark knowing you love your cuddly Pooh bear and Bubbles? Now I know the truth, at your core, you are positively puff... lol

Eh, I have my days, sir. Haha. :D It's kinda up and down, down and up. I'm pretty much a walking contradiction. Still not sure if it's just me or the bipolar disorder...
Positively puff! That comment made me smile. After baking classes, I now also make mean cream puffs! Hahaha.

I know you might find this a bit strange but I am a huge fan of Pooh Bear and I also collect teddy bears (around 460 last count). So I thoroughly enjoyed this poem - your spring time description was original and perfectly put - this for me is one of your best poems :-)

Statistically speaking, this comment is mind bogglingly staggering David! A million times my best poem? Dam, if I had a dollar for each one of those, I'd be a million times happier than I am right now...
And then there is the issue of you having 460 bears... are you compensating for something? Lol...
Ok, just kidding, I have like a million baseball cards all over my apartment, so we both have our behaviors that others may find strange. Whatever makes us happy is the fluff we are stuffed with.

It is our strangeness that makes us more interesting without it we would be just normal and boring. This also includes our crazyness which should be lauded rather than bad mouthed. All good creative writers are crazy by default any other strangeness is just a bonus :-)

Pooh would see it as a stampede of Heffalumps...

I love spring although fall is my favorite season. This ink showcase just how imaginative and creative you are as a writer. To be influenced by a snippet from the news and take a character (my second favorite btw, next to Tweety bird), and to create such a wonderful poem for us to enjoy makes me smile. I love where your mind goes sometimes… Enjoyed jj!

Thank you so much Rain!!! You were a part of the inspiration for this because I had been thinking about you very intensely because of what you have been going through. The dream about Pooh Bear had me in a creative mindset and built a scene in my mind when I woke up. The beginning part about missing you was about how I was feeling about you in your absence. You are very special in my world!
