A lady who lacked all glory
/Written for Jade-Pandora's poetry comp -"A heart of gold"/
When I was a child, I heard this story
about a kind of kind lady who lacked all glory
On a hot sunny day, a day like hell
she saw a thirsty dog, panting by the well
Thirsty and tired, the pooch would surely die
She couldn't bear to watch and keep on walking by
She took off her scarf and tied one of her shoes
She quenched the pooch's thirst with water she drew
She gave this dog something society never gave her
The Almighty saw her act and instantly forgave her!
/*- Based on one of the stories I had heard since childhood. It is used to draw many morals mostly of staying kind to every creation and none should judge anyone as God is the only judge and so on...*/
