wearing o' the green
Guinness like we’re in Dublin
it’s "Éirinn go Brách"

his name’s Lombardi
green clad, shamrock in lapel
everyone’s Irish

it’s a Half-n-Half
never call it Black and Tan
no “Troubles” today

in the pubs crawling
Irish, Scotch, Canadian,
whiskey is whiskey
5
green covered rovers
relieve spent beer in the street
what a small shamrock!

corned beef and cabbage,
green beer, thrown up everywhere
kiss me, I’m Irish

Great set of haiku..i especially enjoyed No. 4 projecting sense of global unity how we can put differences, cultures and race and celebrate life when underneath it all we're all the same.

Thank you for that comment - I have used that line twice now and the readers have interpreted it in ways I never intended...
Irish, Scotch and Canadian are all types of whiskies...
But I like your interpretation better...

wonderful haiku. but ain't nothing like St. Pat's in Savannah. Thank God you missed it and sorry you weren't here all at the same time

I grew up in Atlanta, went to the University of Georgia, my parents retired to the Georgia coast just north of Darian... I may have some knowledge of the Savannah of which you speak -
I also lived in San Francisco for 5 years - I think I remember 2 St. Patty's Days...
