Shattered Glass
You are “damaged goods”
And I am too perfect
For my own good.
You’re on the lowest level
As I am up high
On a pedestal to
Save me from you.
You’ve had a hard life
While I’ve been
Declared lucky.
You’re nobody
While I’m special
And beautiful.
I wish someone would
Just shatter all the glass
And then the whole world
Would be the same.
Only then will we both
See the imperfections
And mess of the world.
Life is more than
Black and white.
And I am too perfect
For my own good.
You’re on the lowest level
As I am up high
On a pedestal to
Save me from you.
You’ve had a hard life
While I’ve been
Declared lucky.
You’re nobody
While I’m special
And beautiful.
I wish someone would
Just shatter all the glass
And then the whole world
Would be the same.
Only then will we both
See the imperfections
And mess of the world.
Life is more than
Black and white.
