"Power corrupts."

power is what happens
when the world
is at your fingertips

and you say
"not now."
"there are other things I need to do."

power is what happens
when you've been beaten
for so long

and you've forgotten
how to stand alone
and you do so anyway

power is what happens
when you walk this world alone
and even though you're shattered

and even when your wings are broken
you learn to live, and not to survive
only on solitude, and broken wings.
