STUCK U.
Life lessons,
love professin’,
steady testing,
Guessin’ by what degree,
you love or hate me
Claiming me 2b a love drop-out,
un-matriculated
When I was merely an undergraduate,
as I orientated,
Studying two majors,
looking forward to recess
No stress, spring broke,
on beds casually crashed
No fad, or rehab stint,
we both were hell bent
Coming on strong and heavy in mutual aspirations
Although to me you were and still are heaven sent
Breath taking,
waking up to roll and sow oats,
before morning coffee
Now for you, you renege on episodes,
telling me to repent
Revising thesis of We,
to How You could never trust…Us!
Rewriting our capers from the plight of hindsight,
as I turned a-way…..
I thought you secretly liked being played that way,
as we both competed
Together we could never be defeated,
until you started questioning playin’ time
Attempting to transfer your credit,
for more on field authority, plus more electives
Subjective formulaic stressin’,
professing insights based solely on tails of tape in mirrors
I won’t lie, I was young and did objectify you too,
I just knew we mesh like glue
Now I’m regulated to the Hall of Shame,
because you lost in the biggest game
Well this is true, but my cleats are bronzed
and my rings sit on display in cases, no regrets
Now we are rivals,
as the bind between us that adhered so well, was nothing, butt love….
I still graduated Summa Cum Laude…..
and cherish our times of camaraderie and fun while Sticking U!!!
