How very violated I would feel
& this before that first touch

floored & sucker punched
by a verbal volley of words
served as humble pie to eat
& this before we might meet

what fed me eventually
led to famine immediately
sacrificing all of inside me
& this before I heard you speak

always in an instant only away
booked marked private or “Pandora”
intelligently aware opting only to ignore
& this, words all but unspoken & as before

maybe you’re only a memory
that wants to be a wish
a dream, maybe only a daydream
& this before timed tied us hostage
