Hell Out Of The Closet

She shivers and shakes as she hides behind the coats hanging in the closet,
Wishing for escape, wishing for safety from the monster, the mother, her own.

She sits clinging to her knees held to her chest, rocking back and forth, hoping her mother has left.
Praying to a God she can't anymore believe exists, she Holds the razor between her two lips.

She rolls her sleeve up to her elbow, carves in her skin as if pen to paper, one simple word in blood from her flesh, Help! As if she giveth a sacrifice.
As if that word if her mother found her would save her life.

Her mother's footsteps echo through the halls, doors slamming down the hall.
She shivers as she closes her eyes, and from her eyes tears she does cry.

Though blood pours from the etched letters in her arm no pain does she feel,
She only feels hate, rage.Rage for the drunk of a mother who savegly takes.Takes her dignity, her self respect, the mother that gives only blows, A mother drunk, angry, A mother she no longer knows!

The closet door swings open and hands clasp around her neck, she meets with the wall held by her throat.
The drunk monster choking hold,
Her life sinking right before her eyes behold.

Her brother with two blackened eyes runs in the room,he pushes and pulls, oh how he tries to save her life,
But he goes flying pushed to the floor and hits his head on the frame of the door.

He lays silent, no movement seen.
As her hand loosens its hold on her.
Mother reality coming through,
Couldn't believe what she did do.
She runs from the room and runs from the house.
To her brother she ran ,trying to wake him, in her lap held his head.
She thought he could be dead.

Ambulance she calls and they come sirens a blaring, her brother they awaken,
Swollen bruised and shaken.
They both are taken from this home,
Forced to repair on their own.
