I drove all these miles
in search of the long hair that grew from your nose
the one you couldn't see
that you'd left for me to notice.
You wore that special tie
the one I like
with that special knot
tied extra tight.
And you didn't care if it was day or night
when I arrived
you'd left on the light
to celebrate my crossing the porch.
Had I been there for you
I would have swept the leaves
but they've blown away
now all that's left
is your naked tree
don't let it
fall yet... please.
How foolish I have been
to put this distance and time between us.
