Secrets
You were my demonology
it started all in my head
and you fell for it
craving a state
that sucked you in
and grew faerie wings
to fly any place
from where we were then.
On the halfway bridge
we heard the crackling
new electricity
sparks of our wishfulness
but never dreamt
fresh desperation waited.
And up the hill in that abandoned house
you left the baby sleeping
lying nights with the drug of me
to softly burn bad memories
as I blamed moonlit waves
tumbling.
I never told you this before
but that's what secrets do
they come at you
so suddenly
unexpectedly
while you still haunt me.
