Place
Wielding a consciousness capable of knowing its self
we often forget we are part of the natural order
It is in moments of remembrance of this fact
I hope to become not commonplace
but ever present in our lives
It is our duty to birth each other reflectively into this improbable miracle
to blossom along with the sentimental forms of nature
and to die when we have learned the implications of wilting
We are as rooted in this world as the most ancient sequoia
as profound as the vastness of eternity
and as beautiful as the most lonely desert bloom
I want our hearts to beat at the same rhythm that nature erupts
For it is in this rhythm we can find our place
so eternally questioned
so detrimentally alone.
