the Dust Storm**

 Dust

 Dirt

   Soil

Soul of the earth

I have been around
since this world's birth

Under Mother Nature's watchful eye
I am always protected
She sends the rain to quench my thirst
and makes sure i'm not neglected

Saturated by tears from heaven
that's how i make things grow
Instinctively I soak it up
till I bust in overflow

Dear Mother then brings warm sunshine
making me firm beneath your feet
Without me you would have no shelter
nor any food to eat

You would have no air to breathe
with no trees,and no roots
No foundation to stand on
see, im more than just dust on your boots

More than messy mushy mud
that squish between your toes
I am in you just as you are in me
divinity transposed

From the beginning til the end
my time shall be spent
Providing nutrients to the things necessary
for your nourishment

Hopefully my importance
you quickly will discern
Since from dust you are
and surely to dust you will return
