The Shining
You hear it so often in verse and in song
A woman who seems to shine
With an ethereal light in her face
And a glow in her eyes almost magical
But I’ve seen it in reality myself
That glowing face shining forth
In a woman who still carries her youth as a charm
With her loving man who smiles with pride
And her unborn child bringing that light to her face
Unknown to her
And yet so obvious to the world
Something I had thought to be myth
Brought to life before me
In a magical way
In that youthful face carried forth like a charm
On the bracelet of life and time
And the babe carried forth in her womb
A woman who seems to shine
With an ethereal light in her face
And a glow in her eyes almost magical
But I’ve seen it in reality myself
That glowing face shining forth
In a woman who still carries her youth as a charm
With her loving man who smiles with pride
And her unborn child bringing that light to her face
Unknown to her
And yet so obvious to the world
Something I had thought to be myth
Brought to life before me
In a magical way
In that youthful face carried forth like a charm
On the bracelet of life and time
And the babe carried forth in her womb
