South Bank, Saturday...
behind me, the afternoon crowd,
the strollers, and the purposeful,
the buskers, the sellers of food,
the success and the unsuccessful...
I look at the river, a cloud,
that seems to me, as I lean by the wall,
to travel like a flightless bird,
which, nonetheless, is wonderful...

it's strange, how
sometimes in the midst
of it all, there is time
to stand still...

wee moments of everything, anything, nothing but a momentary bliss----
sweetly captured

to even get close to
the still centre of everything,
now that would be quite
something...

The art of bumbling along. Refreshing in length and lots of quality within. It has a very sincere and natural purpose.

I'd been polishing it for hours...
well, alright, maybe minutes,
I didn't want to overdo it..:)

Dartford, luv ~ :-*
I am going to endeavor to articulate the feeling that has arisen within me with this one. What a gift you've bestowed upon us, luv. :-*
One of my very favorite paintings is Georges-Pierre Seurat's Un dimanche après-midi à l'île de la Grande Jatte - 1884 for a number of reasons. There is a feeling that overtakes me when I view it and that very same feeling overtook me when I read your poem. It evokes that same sense, for me, of life in harmony.
There is more as well conveyed by the sense of you leaning, relaxed ~ perceptive ~ contemplative, by that wall...ahhh, luv, words fail me. I am inadequate to this so I must simply say to you, again, thank you. Tis an honor to read your works... :-*

I don't really know what to say...as far as the
comparison goes, I'm blushing..:) Funnily enough,
though, I was at the time thinking briefly of a
Monet painting of a scene very similar to the one I was
actually looking at, of the river and Westminster as seen
through the fog - mind you, I was minus
the fog..! Thank you, very much...

Seriously? This is well thought out! I love the rhyming patterns. This is great!
