Parent talk [a collab with PoetikMind]
Chubby fingers, tiny nails
Dimpled cheeks, loud wails
Curly hair, waddle walk
Goo goo gaga, baby talk
Double the trouble, I've got two
Little monsters, what about you?
Aaawww how well I remember!
The countin' of fingers n' toes.
Though she turned out perfect
there was much more to worry about, but I'd be ok I suppose.
"Lil monsters" you stated? Lol
I honestly can't relate it, my lil
one was destined to shine.
I swear this true, at only two
she hit twenty straight shots
into a six foot basket,
it popped in my mind...
"An Athlete from the start"
she was fated.
Yes little monsters
They run around and turn
my house inside out
Toys, balls, and random socks
all about
Break my back cleaning
after them
But no matter what I do
Nothing will stop the two
But once night comes and
they calmed They cuddle up
to me, squeezing me tight
They agree to share mommy
and no longer fight
I have no athletes, my oldest
is a clutz
Like mother like daughter
she's more into video games
And into fairy tails where the
princes save dames
Maybe my youngest will take
up sports Maybe shoot some
hoops at the BBall courts
I can imagine...they sound a lot
like my siblings, n' me always
'turnt up' n' running free.
Always gettin' into things, mommy was strong but held a gentle hand.
For us, it was our Daddy who was
the enforcer, n' he didn't play.
"Do as I say" was his demand.
I'm sure with two, my status
would be a different story,
except she's just one, 'chipped
off the block' n' I'll damned if
she don't garner all the glory!
I laugh at myself, because in the beginning I'd to be 'strong' but
she's gotten Daddy like "jelly"
spoiled, thankfully not rotten
still I hope I'm not wrong...
I give her my all, becuz she
deserves my best, n' SHE
gives it right back... I can
attest, a straight A student
a Black Belt, n' a musically
inclined buddin' songstress.
Yet, I pray to god she stays
on the right track...
My life might as well be it's
very own Disney movie,
For when we wake up we say
every thing in a song like way
We don't have to watch movies
with them to know all the lines
Singing all the lyrics and quirky
little rhymes
It's such a scary thought,
knowing one day they will fly
the coop
Starting their own families it
throws me for a loop
Getting old man time sure flies
by 'It's surely bitter sweet' I say
with a heavy sigh
But we are damn lucky aren't
we Poe? Beautiful girls we get
to watch grow
There is always something new
to learn...Imagine life without
them... How my stomach
would churn.
Yea Red lucky we are at that!
n' I'm not even gonna try
n' think without her, where
my life would be at...
You n' yours sing Disney
n' we got alot together we
do too just like you...we
Like play video games n'
go to the movies to catch
the latest superhero flick.
Or even stay at home n'
binge watch 'ole school
Kung Fu hit.
They say "God bless the child..."
Alas, I know it's WE as parents
who are blessed, as long as we
love n' cherish them I've faith
for their future Bcuz we did our best.
