PRISON OF THE MIND
Locked away and lost in a prison of the mind
Violence and hatred are the shackles that bind
Eradicated goodness replaced with an evil plight
Nothing left but sadness, no longer sees the light
A man among the living, a soul that’s walking dead
Images of innocence lost inside his head
Long ago forgotten dreams of a normal life
Fruitless possibilities of a home with kids and a wife
A spirit that’s been bruised and broken, beaten down by time
Going through life’s motions like a theatrical street corner mime
No hero to look up to or father's shoes to fill
A boy inside the mind of a man waiting for love to pay its bill
A makeshift prison of loneliness surrounded by four walls
Waiting to be taken home when the fallen angel calls
No one can save the lost man’s soul he’s taken refuge in the dark
Searching through the shadows for a way to leave his mark
Locked away and lost in a prison of the mind
Violence and hatred have left him deaf, dumb, and blind
Violence and hatred are the shackles that bind
Eradicated goodness replaced with an evil plight
Nothing left but sadness, no longer sees the light
A man among the living, a soul that’s walking dead
Images of innocence lost inside his head
Long ago forgotten dreams of a normal life
Fruitless possibilities of a home with kids and a wife

A makeshift prison of loneliness surrounded by four walls
Waiting to be taken home when the fallen angel calls
No one can save the lost man’s soul he’s taken refuge in the dark

Locked away and lost in a prison of the mind
Violence and hatred have left him deaf, dumb, and blind
