Valentine's Day Piercing

Wow JJ.....what a crushing heart write......this truly pierced my heart with sadness......I know this hurt......if she was stolen away then she wasn't right for your sweet soul......when the right one comes she will be all yours and only yours......feeling your hurt thru these heart writen words.....sending luv hugs and thoughts your way xo :)

Thank you G! You are always so full of luv... this poem is an older one I reposted because no one paid it any attention when I originally posted it. Being Valentine's day in a couple of weeks and I'm still single, I decided to post it in the singles Valentine's day contest as well. Truth be told, I have never had anyone special on Valentine's day. That is a very sad thing indeed. The only thing I ever liked about Valentine's day was that the day after, all the Valentine's chocolates go on sale for 50% off...

I'll be your Valentine, JJ. . .So cheer up!. . .Yes, it is easier said than done. . .But where to start deciphering this poem is beyond me as every stanza represents an emotion I have absolutely no words for but they do, however, leave me in awe. . .One day you won't be single, and your days will be filled with Valentine's and whatnot, but until then, you keep doing your thing, keep your spirits high and your heart open, only then will love be standing at your front door, and this time you won't be holding chocolates at 50% off, you'll be holding a diamond ring. . .love to you, Poetryman. . .~xo, Devlin.

Lin, as sweet as hat would be, it would only be a fantasy. I have fantasies every day, so Valentine's day is an ordinary day... all I want is love but that's too much to ask for. 50% off chocolates will have to satisfy me until the day after Easter and then Halloween...

JJ, I'm a woman that really don't put much thought in days like this, when it comes to receiving. Now don't get me wrong, I love to 'give' gifts on holidays like; Christmas, V-Day, birthdays etc.... put I could careless if I receive anything on those days. I love the thought of getting trinkets through-out the year just because I'm loved and appreciated and not because of a symbolic day. With that said, I would love to be you sweetheart this Valentine Day! (I'll make it extra special for ya! ;) )

Rain, like you I do not care about receiving gifts, but the idea that someone would care enough to give me a Valentine's day card, a kiss and say "I love you" on the one day when that is happening all around me would be a dream come true. I would love to just be loved on that day. To look in the eyes of a woman that loves me, hold her in my arms, pledge our hearts on Valentine's day is nothing more than a dream to me. If I can't do that, I'd rather it was just another day. But everywhere I go on that day, I see flowers and balloons and boxes of chocolates shaped like hearts and it only reminds me I am alone. All of those things tell me that people are in love and I am not. Every time I thought I was it was a lie or a mistake and always ended before Valentine's day. I'm a failure at love and time is running out. I don't understand how this can be, how this can be my life. So while it seems like a sweet gesture when friends say they will be my Valentine, it leaves me empty. The love friends share is wonderful, but it is not the love missing from my life. It is not the thing I have wished for every time I ever blew out birthday candles because I have always had friends that I love. I don't want fake Valentine's. I'd rather stay home and wait for it to be over and then eat tons of chocolate until I am stuffed and drunk on whatever chocolate has in it that makes you feel good. Never mind the stomach ache and diabetic attack...
