I chase you in both
day and night.
Forced into the shadows
of daylight.
Openly chasing you in
dreams at night.
Desperately trying to lasso
you with words.
To catch you with nouns
and verbs.
You are a cunning prey....
Still I hunt you, day after day.
Unrelenting in my actions,
to garner your attraction.
I have tried so many times
with lovely words and rhymes.
Words shimmering with sunshine;
meant to seduce, to make you mine.
I even tried the naughty words;
seductive nouns and dirty verbs.
Telling you what I will do to you....
Explaining how you will enjoy it too.
In such descriptive ways......
we have mind fucked for days.
I have spilled my heart to you;
words of love that are true.
I continue to chase you and
you continue to run.
Someone will tire and
I will not be the one.
So when that day comes
and you are finally mine.
Remember I have loved
you for all this time.....
With all my heart and mind;
In loving words and rhyme..
You will wonder why you
wasted so much time.
When you could have
always been mine.
