Gidget

A large part of,
Her forehead missing,
And just two weeks ago,
They were kissing.

Paralyzed from the neck down,
And he never gave her mercy,
His energy is dark,
Now she's a sideshow clown,
And her mother loses count of her surgeries.

Gazing and looking at,
Her deformed head,
Her son growing up
and wondering,
Why is it shaped like that?
And why didn't they just leave her for dead?

But the deepest part of the tragedy,
Wasn't on the screen that day, what you didn't see,
How does she piss?
And how many pillows propped up....
Before a seizure fit?
And at what times in the night, her medication,
And after how many surgeries does ceasing her convulsions?

Her memory is gone,
She knows who I am
And who her son is, gone,
But she can't finish a sentence,
When she starts it,
And her thought processes are jammed.

All their lives are ruined,
He got 12.5 years,
And all the mother can do,
Is explain her dire situation,
While wiping away her tears.

She wears a curly black wig backstage,
You can tell it's a wig,
No more her hair grows organically,
Her ex-boyfriend, a target of rage....
