Faceless Fate
Before we met
I knew you
I had felt your touch
And heard your words
When I would dream
They were always of you
You were faceless then
But I knew you
I feel as though we have never been strangers;
for you have been with me from the beginning
– yet only in spirit, never in flesh
I yearned for you, night after night,
praying that you would come.
And with your love, you would save me
from myself
And then, for the first time, I saw you
Our eyes met and we smiled
I knew who you were
I could feel it
And I knew I had to have you
You knew exactly what I needed
You were so patient
so cool
so perfect
And I know now
as I knew then
that I love you
I knew you
I had felt your touch
And heard your words
When I would dream
They were always of you
You were faceless then
But I knew you
I feel as though we have never been strangers;
for you have been with me from the beginning
– yet only in spirit, never in flesh
I yearned for you, night after night,
praying that you would come.
And with your love, you would save me
from myself
And then, for the first time, I saw you
Our eyes met and we smiled
I knew who you were
I could feel it
And I knew I had to have you
You knew exactly what I needed
You were so patient
so cool
so perfect
And I know now
as I knew then
that I love you
