Doom
Welcome veil of the grinning moon
Peering through clouds of emerald noon,
Welcome crows ill looming
O’er fountains sickly fuming
Where the waters foaming lie
Mirroring the terror of the sky
That befalls with fire-winged gown
On the towers and spires of that sinister town.
From beyond clouds—gold-streaked and lime
To the bell tower’s hollow last chime
Slithering through each vacant, grey street
To the leagues where mounts and lees meet,
To the forests where the poison pools brew
Visions the mad magi view.
Then dance the demons of the cerulean bay
Where they who seek refuge cower and pray.
Ocean and mount; forest and valley
Shall rest in flame eternally
When the clock tolls beckoning doom,
Inviting the worms to so vast a tomb.
And in the clouds the lone gods cry
To see their Kingdom Come wither and die.
To rest—to rest we are made to lie
Below the terror of the sky.
Peering through clouds of emerald noon,
Welcome crows ill looming
O’er fountains sickly fuming
Where the waters foaming lie
Mirroring the terror of the sky
That befalls with fire-winged gown
On the towers and spires of that sinister town.
From beyond clouds—gold-streaked and lime
To the bell tower’s hollow last chime
Slithering through each vacant, grey street
To the leagues where mounts and lees meet,
To the forests where the poison pools brew
Visions the mad magi view.
Then dance the demons of the cerulean bay
Where they who seek refuge cower and pray.
Ocean and mount; forest and valley
Shall rest in flame eternally
When the clock tolls beckoning doom,
Inviting the worms to so vast a tomb.
And in the clouds the lone gods cry
To see their Kingdom Come wither and die.
To rest—to rest we are made to lie
Below the terror of the sky.
