Why do I bother writing?
This piece is not meant to be sad
it just makes me mad
knowing that all these poems I'm showing
are essentially meaningless
So why do I bother writing?
why even put ink on paper?
why own books?
why write?
why?
An answer remains elusive
if an answers remains at all
I could write 1000 pieces
with 1000 praises
none of it will compare to a hug
or a slap
or a kiss
or a touch
The words may as well be extinct
Null
Void
or am I just paranoid
Perhaps the day an answer appears
then I won't bother
until then I am to ponder
why I even bother

I really identified with the content of this piece. I have pondered the same thing myself. I guess the answer is the same for interacting with people in general. While it may not be a hug, kiss, or slap, it is something.
Liked the way you separated 'Null' and 'Void' onto the separate lines. It gave a greater aire of gravity to both words.
