query and quarks

what irks me most is the mundane
day after day of the ole same thing

we wake to work, with worry and bills
just trying to make it,but struggling still

it's so easy for living to lose it appeal
no zest for new quests, total lack of zeal

BUT i could never get accustomed to
NOT discovering something new

that moment of excited thrill
senses alert with a lively feel

it is built into our anatomy
endorphines released by curiosity

inquisitive by design,mavens of questioning
see.. man(kind) seeks the knowledge of things

how they work, what makes them tick
to dissect,to solve, or build brick by brick

slueth the world, and our place in it
we are conquistadors of analysis

pretty cool huh? we are born a spy!!
it's no wonder a kid;s most used word is WHY?

anyone who has kids know exactly what i mean
they'll ask fifty million questions about one thing :)lol

even before they can talk they are off exploring
i swear toddlers get into the most peculiar things

but most adults has lost that spark it seems
as they stagnate between reality and dreams

listlessly lurking in limbo of the mundane
the bane existence of an unchallenged brain

life was meant to be grabbed by the horns
wild,untamed,carefree... never conform!

find what lights your fire, and fuel it with butane
and let curiousity continuously fan your flames
