Resolve
Is this the day I do it?
This the day I walk away?
Question if I can hold to it
Or will resolve once again stray?
So determined to love me
Unseen as the cold wind moans.
But the chill to anonymity
Saps the marrow of my bones.
And it's New Year's already,
They pass so fast anymore.
This one I vow to steady
Ship, and bring this wreck ashore.
One set of footprints in the sand,
We both know whose they'll be.
My path to calm I understand
You cannot share with me.
I'll lift anchor before first step,
Wind guide you or take stern,
Won't condemn choice or pretend
That I do not share the burn.
But won't look back unto dark things
I know I must release.
Poetry my soul, till it again sings
My quest is one of peace.

s1 l2, should way be away [?]
if not, i'ma just mind mah biz, ya know ltm :)
also here:
"And it's New Year's already,
God they pass so fast anymore.
This one I vow to steady
Ship, and bring this wreck ashore."
... something feels a bit off, maybe the second line. idk. can't really put my finger on it & it could just be me
*
anyhoo, my confusion aside, mon ami, this is a gorgeous self-exposé, just the right amount of vulnerability & uncertainty with it seeming contrived or affected...

reminded me so much of woodkid's 'i love you' [find the quintet version, absolute tear jerker]
really loved this one, mister

Re: Re. Resolve
Lol, bless you Katja for being here this morning. seldom do I wake up and take up the pen like I did this morn...and my proofreading obviously suffers pre-caffeine. Fixed the first...syllable count and/or meter probably off with the second. Will edit later...
Thank you for your kind words. Looking up the "I Love You" poem/song now. Your suggestion are always great. I thank you for those as well. :)

Oh holy hell that song just ripped my heart out, (piano junkie I am). Spot on, as always. Thank you so much, dear.

There's such raw, earnest & honesty in the strength of your resolved plea! Loving the new poem, SURVIVOR➰

Yes, hope is the string that keeps us all going I believe, Keith. The pull on it always seems a bit stronger when the new year rolls in, and can be truly inspiring. Wishing you all the best in 2016, my friend.
