Just for Glue
I carry this gum
that's stuck to my shoe
I'll keep it forever
to remind me of you
And though I don't know
the mouth it came from
the brand that you use
or its flavor
You sure had an impact
it's been there so long
hard proof
of your chewing behavior
Now I may be stuck
on the sidewalk
with one shoe
that wont let me go
but I'll never despair
or get crazy
while I can still wiggle
a toe

Sometimes we can laugh away misfortune - but for other issues like the ones in “Shame in Times Square” - we can't. However, in no way do I seek to underplay the appalling, expensive and unnecessary problem of gum fouling that blights many cities here – it really is a sticky business. Perhaps offenders should be made to swallow a shoe! Thanks for your kind remarks.

I'm glad you liked it Stef - and I have to tell you the only way to get it off cleanly when this happens is to put your shoe in the freezer and then scrape it off.
