I Don't Know Who You Are
You showed up at my door last night like the ghost of Christmas past
I recognized your face right away but your soul seemed to be lost
I let you in without a word because I had no words to say
And the silence echoed our last talk when you shut your eyes and walked away
I don't understand why you came back around when you felt no reason to stay
You never were who you portrayed and now I don't know who you are
The shadow of a forgotten lover I desired about a hundred years ago
With snow white skin never driven until the virgin within gave in to sin
Why return where this soul from Hell will burn just like it did before
When all there was you took away and left a heart that beats no more?
So in you walk with a midnight breeze drifting on the winds of time
Disguised as an angel forgiven for you sins while denying your lethal crime
And I the fool who let you in to drain my soul of its will to just say no
Part of me wonders if you will stay and the rest asks how long before you go?
No good will come of this well known stranger returning to my front door
Because I don't know who you are nor do I want to anymore
