A Break From The Norm
I say the words,
you say them back
but I just don't believe you
And that just sucks,
if this don't work,
it's gonna hurt
to leave you
You see,
I try;
give me some credit,
I just can't trust
I try to not let
past experiences
define us
There's something
about holding you close
that just
relieves the pain
But when you leave,
I just can't breathe;
and I relive the pain
I sit thinking
how all of this
is such
a break from the norm
As your smile
looks more
suspiciously
like my favorite song
you say them back
but I just don't believe you
And that just sucks,
if this don't work,
it's gonna hurt
to leave you
You see,
I try;
give me some credit,
I just can't trust
I try to not let
past experiences
define us
There's something
about holding you close
that just
relieves the pain
But when you leave,
I just can't breathe;
and I relive the pain
I sit thinking
how all of this
is such
a break from the norm
As your smile
looks more
suspiciously
like my favorite song
