I am salvation

I am free
I am submission
I am sweat
I am tears
I am blood
I am life

I am primal
I am cerebral
I am logic
I am compassion
I am cold sweat in a dark basement swimming in the hum of discontent. The secret whisper of heartache, wrapped in the horrors of going through the motions, hiding from the torment of a 2 AM reality.
God I am so lonely. Trade me sleep for eternity, my soul isn't worth the contract signed to burn it. Let me slip into some semblance of calm before the sun resets the new day of minute to minute denial and self-deception.
Tear this heart, barely beating, from the socket of this nightmare.
Let its epilepsy haunt some other anguished scream.
I am nothing, burdened by the weight of the world.

fascinating write - I see two poems here. The split is obvious to the end of the short 'I am's' which I would finalise with a last line of ' I'am' - both poems are excellent and would easily stand alone. (Just a suggestion) :-)

I agree with David, definitely two poems that can stand on their own.
When the burning loneliness sits in the pit of our...everything. Pretty overwhelming and powerful write. I hope some sort of peace came over you when you let this out.

Great introspective piece Sammy.
I think we were discussing just yesterday how much I admired your style of baring from the depths of your soul.
My only suggestion would be to omit 'God I am so lonely.'
Imo, you don't need..:) You are revealing and conveying well as is.
