the dream

cut out my brain
let the worms lick it up
to rot in a sea of agony
and indigestion

i had a lucid dream
just the other week
where i kept waking up
aware i was asleep

i stepped into a mirror
staring at the shimmer
as the eyes of my reflection
turned into obsidian
and the face behind the shine
chanted this to me
"when you become the demon
there is nobody to fear but yourself
and i am terrified,
i am terrified,
i am terrified
i am terrified"
and the sky outside
howled at me
maniacal laughter
of broken trees
and hearts that bleed
over fields of ergot grain
burning the warlock
going insane
i pray for rain
to an empty sky
i pray to die
i wait to die
