Abandonment

I waited for mother
Feeling abandoned
The threat of father
Was never far away
My mother descended
Angelically, dove like
Very occasionally
Father descended
Like the grim reaper
All too regularly
Mother hid behind
The veil of
Mental illness
Father was the
One who was
Really sick
He never hid
I waited
I descended
I hid
Father always
Found me
Mother never did
