JOUSTING

 We drove the wind
Rode on dark clouds
Played catch with the rains
We played dodge the lightning
Kicked out at hail
We melted the snow
Made the blue skies more blue
Stared down tornadoes
Feared not the storms
We tap danced on earthquakes
Surfed typhoons and tsunamis
But we were young then

Now we shiver
In all weathers
We wrap up sensibly
Or stay safely indoors
In front of the fire
Only occasionally, do we
Face the rains
Stare down the clouds
Armed with woolly hats
And umbrellas
We seldom
Joust
anymore
