Cynical Delight
Shattered,
but more whole
having felt the residual rapture
of letting go.
I saw him look at me
as if to say:
Let it rain
and I will plant the seeds
to make you flourish
I stand
just far enough away
to take in the anguish
of all the has befallen me
of my own will
Don’t expect
to reap what was never sown
although sometimes I find
those who deserve
love least
need it the most
but more whole
having felt the residual rapture
of letting go.
I saw him look at me
as if to say:
Let it rain
and I will plant the seeds
to make you flourish
I stand
just far enough away
to take in the anguish
of all the has befallen me
of my own will
Don’t expect
to reap what was never sown
although sometimes I find
those who deserve
love least
need it the most
