I'm Free

I'm free
In spite of the constraints of this world
The job just to pay the bills
This house that isn't mine, not really my home
Disconnected heart strings looking for their mate
The opinions of the bored, unable to entertain themselves
The blows of the weak, seeking to be big fish in small ponds
The uncertainty of tomorrow
The questionable everything
Still I'm free...
I live in musical notes and the syllables of prose
I live in the color of beauty and the grace of the night
I am alive with every breath I take
I'm free because my soul doesn't reside here
This world has never been strong enough to hold it
