A Heart of No Heart
How do you break a heart that's not there?
Do you shatter the feelings, torture the pair?
If one has a heart and the other's without...
Do you hurt one half more so they both figure out?
What if the heart has been shattered much to long?
Can it still love or is that just wrong?
So please wise people answer this riddle...
How does a heart break if the pieces are so little?
Does it shatter again like that very first time?
Or does it crumble like thoughts in an aging mind?
Does it turn to dust when it's had to much?
Or will it mend itself with a new loving touch?
So please dear friends I ask one more time...
How can a heart get fixed if it's no longer mine?
Yes, I gave it to him you think me insane...
But you didn't see the smile when he said just my name.
Why do the good die young I really must ask...
And leave us alone with those ones and their masks,
So tightly gripped in public but,
Behind closed doors the mask just cuts...
It's not only in the words he said,
But even the thoughts put into my head.
I thought I loved him, ha, so young with trust.
Not knowing his heart wasn't there, only lust.
So now listen up both young and old,
Lock up your hearts don't let them be sold.
