Please
Giving the time finances and the opportunity
Would invest my time and energy in my community
Trying to teach the youth to love one another with trust
and unity
My blood sweat and tears
My bravery and my fears
Wouldn’t be an issue in my goal
Trying to let the truth unfold
We are drowning in our own blood
Genocide against each other, the prisons flood
With our youth and this crushes the chances of our success
Seeing where we are headed, my Africans this call for a distress
Signal to those who to save our race
How can we go on living in such disgrace?
I too had a dream and it differed from Mr. King’s
My dreams were filled with disaster and hearing our
children scream
Lord please help us before it is too late
My people are dying and it’s ourselves that we hate
Every other race of people unites and get along
I long for the day that my people will become that strong
Only if we are able to come firmly together
We would be become so empowered and destitute…NEVER
My black sister’s wouldn’t run to the arms of the Caucasian
They would be enthralled by their black men at every occasion
Like Malcolm X, I agree by any means necessary
If we don’t get it together our future looks scary
My black brother’s wouldn’t beat, cheat and abuse our sista queens
They would stand up and man up love our woman like we are kings
Education is where we must begin
Each one teach one has to become a trend
Those that are in positions to speak to the majority
Must take the courage to reach the people with authority
This isn’t to disclaim or to show prejudiced to any nationality
This is a truth of the black race in reality
We are the only race of people that doesn’t unite
It hurts me to the core and it isn’t right
I am throwing out my pride and begging on my knees
My brother’s and sister’s, let’s come together please
Would invest my time and energy in my community
