STABLE
We have a stable
Relationship, you and me
Though that in itself
Can be quite confusing
Sometimes you are like the owner
You tell me what to do
And I always do it
Sometimes I am like the owner
I tell you what to do
You rear up on your hind
And never, ever do it
We are both like jockeys
Small but perfectly rolled
We both try to be in the saddle
We both enjoy a good ride
But only you enjoy the whip
And only I enjoy the jumps
You won’t do hurdles
I won’t do fences
We are both like horses
We both love being mounted
We both enjoy being well ridden
I like you to get the bit between your teeth
You like to have your tail pulled
We can both be dangerous
If taken from behind without warning
Or kicked too roughly
Sometimes stable feels a bit unstable
After an unsatisfactory roll in the hay
Or heavy petting in the paddock
Or heaven forbid, somebody else
Manages to open the gate
Leaves the gate open
Meaning it’s time for me to bolt
So much for stability
Relationship, you and me
Though that in itself
Can be quite confusing
Sometimes you are like the owner
You tell me what to do
And I always do it
Sometimes I am like the owner
I tell you what to do
You rear up on your hind
And never, ever do it

Love the connection with the word "Stable," when it comes to the aspect of loving...we're almost animalistic.

Echo rainchild. Did guess from title there would be horse/rider analogies.

Ha...stable. I love it. A stable relationship, not so much as sturdy as it is a horse ride. Love the connection.

HA! Straight from the horses mouth... it's always better to have someone in your stable than live in an empty barn...

This was super creative, loved the connection between horse riding and the complex motion of stable relationships. Cool analogies. Nice job.
