Battle Cry
this restlessness in my mind
a thunderstorm lost in an empty desert
thick clouds rolling in on winds singing to the roar of thunder
booming like the drums of war
and a defiant cry screeches through the endless night
seeking peace in the eye of a giant storm
standing on dirt so dry it's cracked from the sun
I stand to fight
this is my battle cry
this is my battle cry
seeking the wild fields of the other side
reaching up past the darkness and into the light
the air is fresh on my face
smelling this slight musk of rain
it's a familiar taste
I can no longer wait
this is my battle cry
this is my battle cry
Oh how I hear their song
ancient as the ground I walk
bright as a flash of lightning
and it's not frightening to be one with the storm
feeling life rush through me naturally
letting this power flow, it sets me free
brings out the best in me
I can never be tamed
I can never be chained
or shamed or changed
seeking peace in the eye of a giant storm
standing on dirt so dry it's cracked from the sun
I stand to fight
this is my battle cry
this is my battle cry
seeking the wild fields of the other side
reaching up past the darkness and into the light
the air is fresh on my face
smelling this slight musk of rain
it's a familiar taste
I can no longer wait
