For You

I sang a song for you today
and poured warm wanton waves
over a crisp autumn breeze

honeyed warbles
undulating and oscillating
to the ebb and flow of my breath
the rise and fall of my chest
wrung out till there
was nothing left

I pieced a puzzle for you today
and nip-tucked ragged edges
beneath themselves to fit

fragmented segments
melded and mended
under the slip-tick-prick of my fingertip
the blend and bend of my wish
coming together
as if magnetic

I rent a chasm for you today
and delicately decorated
within so you'd feel at home

aching sentiments
spacious and patient
my heart hitches with a twitch
until you calm the itch
come settle in
within your niche
