Nostalgic Fragrance
That long forgotten road
Never seemed so familiar before
Submerged scent revived today
Without a physical carriage
Without concealing itself in the air
But, it surely came from somewhere
Reestablishing your gentle caress
Fleeting yet determined to impress
You should've stayed a little longer
To cement your soul's scent a bit stronger
Now the residue of that nostalgic fragrance is left,
To haunt through the pages of the novels you read,
The doors you knocked, the secrets you kept,
My heart's regret;
The dried up tears we both shed.
Never seemed so familiar before
Submerged scent revived today
Without a physical carriage
Without concealing itself in the air
But, it surely came from somewhere
Reestablishing your gentle caress
Fleeting yet determined to impress
You should've stayed a little longer
To cement your soul's scent a bit stronger
Now the residue of that nostalgic fragrance is left,
To haunt through the pages of the novels you read,
The doors you knocked, the secrets you kept,
My heart's regret;
The dried up tears we both shed.
