Dumb Animals

 Have you ever heard an elephant trumpet in praise
But I have met an elephant tell me exactly what he weighs
Have you ever seen a kangaroo jump for Jesus
But I have seen a kangaroo do as he pleases
I’ve never met a Bear who reads his bible every day
But I have met a bear who convinced me he was gay

Have you ever seen a dog wag his tail for the lord
But I have seen a dog that everyone adored
Have you ever heard a lion singing hymns to his saviour
But I have heard a lion boast about his bad behaviour
I’ve never met a hippo sitting on a church pew
But I have met a hippo famed for making Irish stew

Have you ever seen a chimp feeling guilty for his sins
But I have seen a chimp make a pair of moccasins
Have you ever heard a rhino, eyes shut saying prayers
But I have heard a Rhino singing with the Jordanaires
I’ve never met a Giraffe who’d stick his neck out for god
Bit I have met a Giraffe who always knew when to applaud

Maybe animals are not as dumb as we would like to think
Yes it’s true they never shower and all the time they stink
Take a good hard look at them not just a smidgen
No animals stupid enough to believe in a religion

So who’s a dumb animal?
