Shelter
Bullet shells,
Plastic bottles,
Homely hell,
Dusty cubicle,
Worlds apart,
An unforeseeable end,
A repetitive start,
With hands to heal and fists to rend,
A warlord is dead and a city is secured,
With bloodshot eyes and microwaveable dinners,
An achievement is unlocked and another sleepless night endured,
Through patient planning and cooperative intelligence,
The brass can report the mission with a clear conscience,
Through analyzed walkthroughs and console command codes,
The leader-board can add points to playing on hard mode,
Harnessing an unwavering will and unshakable bravery,
Impossible feats of strength and courage happen daily,
Harnessing a reluctant perseverance and unrepentant swearing,
Impossible missions of frustrating design and intelligent enemies are abandoned until re-balancing,
Bullet heads,
Plastic landfills,
Homely wasteland,
Sandy Chernobyl,
Oceans apart,
An unforeseeable end,
A misguided start.
