- - - THE FALL OF EVE - - -
This cruel void, empty where you used to be
The scent of your perfume still lingers here
Fluttering candles in open windows
A stark reminder of days long since gone
A table set for just two
I sit in the company
Of dead roses
Where are you?
Long is the night
When the winter breeze
Blows through the trees
The haunting notes fill the air
A love song that's reserved now
For the mourning
Of despair
This stricken hearts grips and quells my tongue
Else I would just scream out to the night
Until those thrice cursed gods heed my laments
As I kneel on cobblestones in the rain
The lightning strikes
And thunder sounds
Here on your eve
Remembrance of
That fateful night
Oh
The fall of Eve
Condolences
Are empty
Upon my ears
Twilight passes
Devoid
Through the years
And, yes, I still run your bath
That's scented with the fragrance
Of dead roses
And of wrath
Long is the night
When the winter breeze
Blows through the eaves
I can still hear your sweet call
Whispering through the vespers
For the mourning
In cold halls
The lightning strikes
And thunder sounds
Here on your eve
Remembrance of
That fateful night
Oh
The fall of Eve
