Contrafiction
I understand what you're trying to do Bruce,
Caught between what they tell you and what you tell yourself you long for a truce,
But how can you find peace through masochistic abuse,
You've made your name and existence a contradiction,
Born a man but claiming to be a woman how can we separate fact from fiction,
I see your photo-shopped face everyone it's become a media affliction,
You see yourself as a prophet of the new age,
Then I'm sure you'd like to meet Buffalo Bill he's also confused and deranged,
They adorn your name with words like "hero" but they desecrate its meaning,
Calling you "beautiful" behind makeup, photo-shop and pretension screening,
How far will they go to validate your decision,
Attacking naysayers as harborers of hate and derision,
Your endorsing propaganda spread so fast I swear it's contagious,
Locking up any who disapprove in "phobic" cages,
Looks like Mao's Red Book is missing a few pages,
They deny you any reconciliation if your conviction falters,
Their endless obsequious compliments are suffocating your altar,
The world will remember Bruce Jenner the athlete,
An American Olympian decathalonic elite,
What will happen when "Caitlyn's" fiasco's spotlight is turned off,
Will your media army be there for every Twitter standoff,
Will you realize how much in the dark you are,
That you aren't a progressive oasis but the gleam of water on tar,
A man is made through the quality of his actions,
You forfeited your medals of gold and glory for a magazine cover what a terrible transaction,
You turned your back on all that made you a true hero,
Welcome to your new life where morality is abandoned for popularity and ego,
You were created long before you were born,
Our lives given purpose after He was crowned with thorns,
Remember that God loved us so much he sacrificed His only Son,
Whom overcame death to open the gates of Heaven for everyone,
He has a plan for us all if we choose to follow,
Trust me, traveling the "way, truth and the life" path is much harder alone,
But know that although you suffer help is never far,
Call upon God and He'll answer regardless of who you are.
